Tourney Time

The anticipation is finally over. The Boyz in the Hood 3rd Annual Softball Tournament will commence tonight at 6:00pm. All ten of our teams will be in action, strutting their stuff on the softball diamonds of Concord Regional in Vaughan.

Tomorrow is our feature day and everybody is invited. Games kick off at 8:30am and will end with our Men’s Final starting at 4:00pm. In between, we have action galore. Our BBQ, free for everyone in attendance, will kick off at noon and run until 2:30pm. Our showcase game, the Ladies’ Final, will start around 12:45pm. Last year, over 150 spectators took in the Ladies’ Final. This year we are expecting a lot more!

At 11:30am we are asking that all our children sign up for the “Tug-of War” competition that will take place around 12:30pm just before our Ladies’ Final. Parents, we will need your loudest voices to root the kids on. When the TOW competition has ended, all of the competitors will be treated to our complimentary “Mr. Softee Ice-Cream Truck”.

To all of our adult players, spouses, sponsors and volunteers, you are invited to our “after party celebration”, Saturday night at Maision, located at 15 Mercer Street in Toronto. We are asking that everybody be there for 9:30pm. As well as celebrating the event, we will also be making a birthday toast to both Sheldon Einhorn and Jamie Klayman. Happy birthday guys!

Lastly, with the help of The Foundation, we are having a “ball & glove” donation drive of all new and used softball equipment to be shipped over to Israel. For Saturday, please check your basements and garages for any items of use. We will have equipment bags around the scorer’s booth for drop-off.
